Solicitors Permit

Below is information on how to obtain a solicitor's permit:

  • Each person soliciting will need to fill out the Solicitor's Permit Application.

  • Each person soliciting will need to  obtain a recent background check from the state in which they reside prior to application.  If you live in Pennsylvania, click here for information on how to obtain a background check.  If you live in New Jersey, click here for information on how to obtain a background check.

  • Bring the application, your background check, and photo ID to the Upper Southampton Police Department for approval. The approval process takes up to 5 business days.

Below is the fee schedule for soliciting:

  • Cash or check only - no credit cards. 

  • Certain religious and non-profit groups are exempt from paying fees, however, they should still notify the police department that they are in the neighborhood.

Once your application has been approved, you will be issued a permit which must be displayed at all times.  Below is a sample of the permit:

Solicitations are permitted Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm. No solicitations on Sunday or the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Valentine's Day
  • President's Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day
  • Veteran's Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
