FLASH FLOOD WATCH

                                          Flash Flood Watch

                    Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County

A Flash Flood Watch is now in effect from Wednesday morning September 1, 2021 through Thursday afternoon. Remnants of Hurricane IDA will pass through our area.

Periods of heavy rain, likely to exceed 6 inches, will cause flash flooding, creeks & streams to overflow, and some roadways under water.

The Delaware River is predicted to rise to 18.2 feet. At that level, water begins to cover some portions of River Rd.

Due to existing wet conditions along with the amount of anticipated heavy rainfall, trees may fall causing some roads to be blocked and electrical lines to come down.

Tornadoes are frequently a concern with tropical systems.

Lower Makefield residents are urged to use extreme caution during this weather event and limit use of low-lying areas and heavily tree lined roads. Vehicles should avoid use of River Road. Motorist should not drive through flooded roadway or near any downed electrical lines. Do not drive around road closure signs.

The Lower Makefield Emergency Operation Center will be activated on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 7am. Residents with questions, concerns or needing assistance can call the EOC at 215-493-4055.

In an emergency, call 911 immediately.
