The Bensalem Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies(CALEA), the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission and the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.
The Bensalem Township Police Department has to comply with 189 standards in order to maintain accredited status. Accreditation is for four years, during which the agency must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited.
