On October 7, 2020 at 1:30 am, Bensalem Police responded to the Valley 7-11 for the report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, the store clerk stated that a white male came in the store, pointed a gun at him and told him to open the register.  The employee then realized that the handgun was a toy and began to struggle with the actor.  During the struggle the clerk pulled the shirt off of the gunman and the gunman fled.  Bensalem Detectives processed the scene and recovered items including the shirt that was pulled from the actor.  Detectives were able to collect DNA from the shirt left behind by the actor.

A subsequent investigation found that the same male may have committed 12 similar robberies throughout PA and NJ.  Investigators from several police departments shared information and developed a possible suspect, John Grubbs II.  It was found that Grubbs known DNA profile was in the FBI Combined DNA Index System(CODIS).  Bensalem Police submitted the DNA recovered from the actors shirt and recently received confirmation that the DNA from the shirt, matched Grubb's DNA on file.

Bensalem Police obtained a warrant for Grubb's arrest and with the assistance of the Philadelphia Police Department, took John Grubbs II into custody.  Grubbs was turned over to Bensalem Police on the warrant.  He was arraigned on the robbery charge by District Justice Falcone and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on a cash bail of $5,000,000.
