Hit and Run / DUI Arrest
On July 15, 2025, Warrington Police responded to the intersection of Easton Road and Titus Avenue for the report of a hit-and-run accident.
Upon arrival, officers located the struck vehicle disabled in the intersection. The striking vehicle, described as a silver Honda, had fled the scene. A short time later, officers located the vehicle at the Hampton Inn & Suites. The Honda had heavy front-end damage, a missing front bumper, and several airbags had been deployed.
A records check of the license plate identified the vehicle’s owner as 29-year-old David Thompson of Niles, Ohio. Officers made contact with Thompson in his hotel room. He displayed signs of impairment, including glassy eyes, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance. When asked for identification, Thompson stumbled twice. When questioned about the accident, he stated he did not know if he had been involved. When asked if he had been drinking, he replied that he could not confirm or deny.
The victim reported minor injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was transported to the hotel and positively identified Thompson as the operator of the striking vehicle. Thompson was placed under arrest and transported to the station, where he was processed and later released.
