Public Building and Staff Precautions

Closures Update March 23, 2020

The Lower Makefield Township Building, Golf Course, and Community Center have been closed with a scheduled reopen date of Monday, March 30th.  The closure is now being extended 2 weeks with the scheduled reopening of these facilities currently scheduled for April 13, 2020.

Consistent with Governor Wolf’s stay at home order all Lower Makefield Township Parks are closed and vehicle access to the parks will be prohibited.

 

Social Distancing in Public Parks and Trails March 21, 2020

Lower Makefield Township is doing its part to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Corona Virus. Following the guidance of our National, State and Local government we are promoting social distancing. We have closed athletic fields, tennis, picklelball, volleyball and basketball courts by removing rims and nets and locked any fenced in area. We do understand that park space is essential to health and wellness so we promote use in a safe way. Please use the following guidance when using parks and open space. Any group of people using parks outside of these limitations will be asked to leave or separate by the LMTPD.


Township Update March 16, 2020

The Township Building will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th

The Building is currently scheduled to reopen Monday, March 30th at 8 A.M.

Employees will be working remotely and will answer your questions and process your requests.  Department heads will have an ongoing presence at the building to insure work gets processed.

Police

  • Questions and concerns, of a non-emergency nature, can be addressed by calling (215) 493-4055 between 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. We can also give insights on email and other digital means of obtaining information as opposed to coming into the offices.
  • For all non-emergency issues, that require a police officer, please call non-emergency dispatch at (215) 493-4011.
  • For all emergencies please dial 911.


Zoning/Codes/Permits/Inspections

  • Inspections that require access into occupied areas of both residential and nonresidential structures are suspended. Township personnel are not permitted into any occupied structure.
  • Inspections that may be performed from the exterior of structures may proceed.
  • Inspections of un-occupied structures and new construction may continue and contact to construction staff is limited.
  • Questions regarding anything related to building permits can be made via email to permits@lmt.org or via phone call to 267-274-1126.
  • Questions regarding Zoning and Planning issues and any other related concerns can be made via email at jimm@lmt.org or via phone call to 267-274-1123.
  • Questions and submissions regarding Sewer Lateral Inspections can be made via email to sewerlateral@lmt.org.  Submission of paper forms, USB drives and/or the $100 permit fee checks can be made through our “after hours drop box” conveniently located to the right of the main entrance doors of the Municipal Building.


Public Works

  • If you have a concern or question, please call our main number at 267-274-1130 or email us at susanr@lmt.org with cc to gregh@lmt.org.  If you are looking to apply for a road opening permit, please call us and we will coordinate over the phone and send you the permit via email.
  • Sewage bill related questions
  • If you have any questions/concerns regarding your sewer bill please send an email to adrienne@lmt.org or call (267) 274-1104


Parks and Recreation

Lower Makefield Township Park Closures

In an effort to promote social distancing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the following Park services will be closed to the public for a minimum of two weeks starting today March 16th at 5PM.

The intended open date is March 30, 2020.

 All Parks will be closed to include:

  • Community Center: Closed
  • Dog Park: Closed to users, office staff will be working remotely. All paperwork can be dropped off at the community center and placed in the drop box or emailed to dogpark@lmt.org
  • Pool: Staff will be working remotely accepting registration and staff information. All documents intended for pool can be left in the drop box located outside the Community Center or emailed to commuitypool@lmt.org.
  • Pavilions: Closed reservations can be changed by emailing veronicag@lmt.org
  • Playgrounds: Closed
  • Athletic Fields: Closed
  • All field and usage permits are suspended until after the two-week closure.
  • Basketball Courts: Closed
  • Tennis and Pickleball courts: Closed
  • All programs, classes and permits are cancelled.
  • 5-Mile Woods: Closed
  • Macclesfield Park: Closed
  • Memorial Park: Closed
  • Veterans Square: Closed

Everything is closed for the next two weeks. We will continue to monitor the situation updates will be provided as the become available.

Tax Collector office

All questions should be by email at lmttax@lmt.org or phone

267-274-1116.  If you wish to have a receipted copy of taxes paid, please include both copies of tax bill and a s.a.s.e.   Payments also accepted by putting in 24/7 drop-off box to the left of the tax office door.  Credit, debit and echeck payments can be made at www.lowermakefieldtax.org.  All payments will be processed daily.

 

Makefield Highlands Golf Club COVID-19 Update March 16, 2020

Golf Course & Driving Range is OPEN

Public House Grille & Banquet Room CLOSED

As of now the golf course is open for play, we are following the CDC recommendation that will not allow gatherings of 50 people or more at one time.  All shotgun start events will be postponed or canceled until further notice.  In addition to our already high standard of facility housekeeping procedures we have begun limiting services and taking all necessary steps to keep our staff, customers, and general public as safe as possible.  We are following the daily guidance of our Township administrators.  Our updated measures include but are not limited to:

  • The Snack Bar and dining room will be closed until further notice, Food & Beverage sales are limited to canned beer, bottled water and juices, and packaged food out of the golf shop cooler
  • Facility is closed except for the golf shop and bathrooms. Transactions on the IPAD are being done outside when available to limit golf shop traffic. As of tomorrow we will be going CASHLESS, the customer can swipe their own credit card and we will make every effort to get your card on file to ensure no contact per transaction
  • All Shotgun events will be cancelled until further notice.
  • Players are handling their own golf bags
  • We are asking players to leave the flagstick in the hole during play.
  • Ball washers and rakes have been removed from the golf course
  • We are creating gaps on the tee sheet when available to provide some social distancing.
  • We continue to disinfect the golf carts between each use
  • Limiting staff whenever possible
  • The Driving Range will have an attendant on duty to provide you with range balls and limit contact to the range machine, baskets, etc

We recognize that this is a challenging time for everyone, we are making every effort to reduce risk and provide a place that is safe and clean for limited business.  Please make smart choices for yourself as we all try to navigate what is best for everyone moving forward.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we decipher the information being provided to us.  We will make more statements as information is updated. Tax Related Business March 14, 2020

As an abundance of caution all Tax related business will be done remotely.   All questions should be by email at lmttax@lmt.org or phone

Lower Makefield Township adopted Resolution No. 421 requiring the inspection and, if necessary, repair of private sanitary sewer laterals prior to the sale/transfer of residential properties, Effective on February 1, 2020.

Moving Permit is required if you are moving in, within or out of the township and enforced by ordinance.   Application form can be found at www.lmt.org.   Form must be signed by applicant.

Landlords are required to contact the tax collector on status of renters per Ordinance 176.

To pay by credit card and echeck go to www.lowermakefieldtax.org.  To pay by debit card go towww.paylocalgov.com/lmt .  Fee of 2.55% (credit card) or $3.95 (debit card) and 1.75 for echeck.  AMEX charges 3.25%

2019 MILLAGES ARE TOWNSHIP 20.25 –  AND COUNTY 24.45.

LMTPD is asking that you refrain from coming to Headquarters for non-essential administrative issues or requests. Many questions and concerns can be addressed by phone. Please contact us at 215-493-4055 Monday-Friday between 8:30AM-4:30PM for advice on email and other digital means of obtaining information prior to coming to Headquarters.
