DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, a disaster has occurred or is imminent by reason of a winter storm;

WHEREAS, on or about December 16, 2020 the effect of the winter storm has/will endanger the health, safety, and welfare of persons residing in Wrightstown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania;

WHEREAS, Emergency Management measures are required to reduce the severity of the disaster and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of those residing in Wrightstown Township;

NOW THEREFORE WE, pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Code, 35 PA C.S.A. Section 7101, et. Seq. and Wrightstown Township Codified Ordinance 15-601 hereby declare the existence of a Local Disaster Emergency in Wrightstown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

FURTHER, WE direct that the Wrightstown Township Emergency Management Coordinator, or other such persons acting on his behalf, coordinate the activities of the Emergency Response and take all appropriate action necessary to mitigate the effects of the disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any and all other Emergency Response action deemed necessary to respond to the Local Disaster Emergency. 

STILL FURTHER, after any snow emergency declared, it shall be unlawful at any time during the continuance of the emergency for any person:

1. To place snow or ice from property occupied by such person onto the cartway or travel portion of any public road or street in the Township or to cause or permit another to commit such acts by means whatsoever including the operation of a snow plow, snow blower or other device.

1. It shall further be unlawful for any person to obstruct the cartway or travel portion of any public road or public street in the Township by any means, including the parking or abandoning of any motor vehicle, trailer, machinery or other contrivance on the travel portion or cartway of any public street or road.  The Police Department servicing Wrightstown Township shall have the authority to remove any such obstructions. 

THIS DECLARATION SHALL TAKE EFFECT 12:00 PM WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 16, 2020 AND BE IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THURSDAY DECEMBER 17, 2020.
