INCIDENT BLOTTER: MAY 6 - 12, 2022

May 6, 2022

  • At approximately 11:45 am a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a theft. The value of loss was over $200.00.

  • At approximately 4:15 pm a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report fraud. The resident explained that he was selling furniture on Craig’s list and had received a fraudulent check. The resident cashed the check before realizing that it was fraudulent, and the total value of loss was $3,600.00.

May 7, 2022

  • At approximately 10:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on the operator of a white Jeep Cherokee for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of North Sycamore Street. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

  • At approximately 11:15 pm police conducted a traffic stop on the operator of a white BMW for committing a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass around Newtown Gate Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

May 8, 2022

  • At approximately 3:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on the operator of a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck for committing a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass around South Sycamore Street. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
