At approximately 3:18 am police conducted a traffic stop on a disabled Toyota sedan in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

At approximately 9:14 am police conducted a traffic stop on a disabled Honda CRV in the area of Stoopville Road and Linton Hill Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 10 trucks were stopped and inspected. No trucks were placed out of service. 1 citation and 6 warnings were issued for violations that were found.
