Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority to Close New Galena Road for Utility Improvement in New Britain Township

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority will be performing a sewer facility installation on New Galena Road in New Britain Township, Bucks County, beginning Monday, March 20.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

  • Monday, March 20, through Friday, April 21, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday closure is scheduled on New Galena Road between Barry Road and Walter Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Barry Road, Railroad Avenue, Sunset Avenue, Route 152 (Main Street), and New Galena Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Chalfont-New Britain Township Joint Sewage Authority will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
