Doylestown Township Police handled 802 calls for service during the month of August. There were 30 traffic accidents investigated. Police issued 63 traffic citations, 156 traffic warnings, and 3 non-traffic citations.
Assault
On August 7, 2025, Officers conducted an assault investigation at a residence on Aspen Way. A 41-year-old male was arrested, arraigned, and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
On August 30, 2025, a 76-year-old woman was cited with Harassment following unwanted physical contact with a nurse at Doylestown Hospital.
Burglary
On August 21, 2025, Officers responded to an apartment complex on Almshouse Road for a known male who had broken into the resident’s home through a window. Officers quickly located and detained the 69-year-old male attempting to flee. After a thorough investigation, he was arrested for Burglary, Strangulation, Criminal Tresspass, Assault, Terroristic Threats, and related offenses. He was arraigned and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Driving Under the Influence
On August 3, 2025, a 24-year-old male was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop for excessive speed on Easton Road near its interchange with Route 202.
On August 19, 2025, a 40-year-old male was taken into custody for DUI after an officer observed unsafe driving behavior on S. Shady Retreat Road near Butler Avenue.
On August 20, 2025, a 37-year-old male was arrested for DUI after an officer observed unsafe driving behavior on Almshouse Road.
Fraud
There were 7 reports of fraud during the month of August. This is a pervasive problem across the region. Please talk with your elderly family members and keep a close watch on any suspicious transactions. Remember that no legitimate organization will ask for payment through gift cards or Bitcoin deposits. If you’re unsure, please call us!
Illegal Dumping
On August 11, 2025, Officers investigated when an unauthorized person left large items near dumpsters on a private commercial property on South Easton Road. The person was identified and educated on the criminal charges applicable for their actions. They paid for the cost of removing their extra-large trash therefore charges were not filed.
Narcotics Violation
On August 27, 2025, Officers responded to the Stonington Farms Complex after a complaint was received about a subject smoking marijuana. A 27-year-old male was located, and a non-traffic citation was issued.
Theft
On August 10, 2025, Officers investigated a retail theft that had previously occurred at the Kohl’s Department Store where two males stole $858.00 worth of merchandise. Through investigation, one 33-year-old-male was identified and later turned himself in on the charges.
On August 11, 2025, Officers investigated theft of property from Doylestown Hospital grounds. After reviewing video, the property was found to have been removed by landscapers who later returned the property. No charges were warranted.
On August 13, 2025, a leaf blower, valued at $114.00, was stolen from a front yard within the Colonial Heritage community. The investigation is ongoing.
