Thank you to the Byers Foundation for their generous donation to the Central Bucks Regional Police Foundation to build a “Comfort Lounge” for victims of crime at CBRPD HQ. Originally the room was a cinder-blocked cold space outfitted with a table and two chairs. Installation of the new lounge softened the space by applying wall board, paint, carpet, furniture, artwork, and comfort items.
“A police station can be an uncomfortable place for a victim to be questioned after a traumatic event. This newly installed Comfort Lounge is designed to make victims feel as calm as possible given the circumstances,” stated Chief Karl Knott. The décor is soothing and relaxing. This has a tremendous impact on whether a person feels comfortable to tell their story and a major impact on the ability for an investigation to move forward.
CBRPD and the Police Foundation remain grateful to the Byers Foundation for their continued support.
