POLICE BLOTTER

10/12/19 – FALSE REPORTS – In conjunction with Bucks County Detectives and area agencies, CBRPD responded to false reports of impending shooting at CB West football game on 10/11/19.  Jake Paul Cosby, 19, Chalfont, was charged with counts of false alarms to agencies in public safety, terroristic threats and false reports to law enforcement stemming from his claims. Multiple agencies responded to boost security for the game including a bomb-detecting K9 unit from Quakertown, Doylestown Township Police and additional private security from both school football teams. Police were first alerted to claims on Friday at approximately 1:30 PM; officers interviewed Cosby, who told investigators a student would be hiding a pistol and assault rifle inside a trash can at or near the football filed.  Searches by police located no weapons. Cosby stated he received the information through messages via the Instagram app on his cell phone; County Detectives examined the content of his phone and found no such messages existed.
