CBRPD Officers received Life Saving Commendations for their actions during two incidents in January. Corporal Mark Bolender and Sergeant Smith responded to the Giant in New Britain Borough on January 24, 2020 for report of a woman passed out at the cash register. Within a minute of arrival, the officers determined the woman was in cardiac arrest and rendered lifesaving actions. In a separate incident, Officer Pullar observed a man lying face down on the concrete in the Amera Gas station in New Britain Borough on January 10, 2020. Officer Pullar determined he was in immediate need of medical attention and rendered lifesaving actions. In both cases, the officers' quick response, recognition of the severity of the medical emergency, immediate actions and effective CPR resulted directly in saving the life of both patients. A failure in action or action after delay could have led to a tragic outcome.
