The Richland Township Police Department responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of South West End Blvd(RT 309) and the entrance to the Richland Plaza at 11 am.  The crash occurred between a tri-axle dump truck, which was traveling north and went around a vehicle that was slowing at the intersection and a Chevrolet Impala that was turning left into the Richland Plaza from the southbound lane of Rt 309.  Unfortunately, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala did not survive this crash.  The deceased is an 87 year old male from Richland Township.  The driver of the dump truck is a 57 year old male from Telford, PA.  The Richland Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office Crash Team will continue the investigation.  Rt. 309 was shut down for approximately 4 hours.  The Richland Township Police Department would like to thank the many volunteers from many fire departments for the assistance.
