Police officers from 10 Bucks County departments together with Pennsylvania State Police will conduct a DUI checkpoint later this week in Doylestown Township.
Located on South Easton Road, just north of New Britain Road, the Bucks County DUI Task Force and state police will be on the lookout for intoxicated motorists from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m.
“Our main goal this Friday night is to keep people safe from being hurt by impaired drivers in the first place,” said District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. “That being said, please don’t drink or do drugs and drive. Be safe.”
Drivers who appear under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be subject to field sobriety tests.
Friday night’s checkpoint will be manned by officers from the Bedminster Township Police Department, Bensalem Township Police Department, Doylestown Township Police Department, Dublin Borough Police Department, Hilltown Township Police Department, Newtown Township Police Department, Penndel Borough Police Department, Plumstead Township Police Department, Quakertown Borough Police Department and the Warrington Township Police Department along with State Troopers.
The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
