The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred overnight in Falls Township. 

The incident began with a routine traffic stop early Tuesday. A male displayed what appeared to be a handgun to police on two separate occasions. At one point he fled from police in his vehicle.

After the male was shot, police secured the firearm and rendered aid on the male until paramedics arrived. 

The male subject was transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

Both officers were uninjured and are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office will make a determination on this shooting once the investigation is complete. Until that time, the office is not releasing the names of any of the parties involved.
