On Friday, Sept. 3, a dozen Bucks County law enforcement agencies and state police held a checkpoint on both northbound and southbound lanes of Easton Road in Warrington, leading to several arrests.
The checkpoint, which ran from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., resulted in 13 DUI arrests and two arrests for narcotics violations. Two other unsafe motorists were taken off the road.
The detail which consisted of 28 Officers ran flawlessly. This is why Bucks is a leader in the state when it comes to DUI task forces, said Richard Vona, Director of Law Enforcement Training, Bucks County.
“I’m grateful to Warrington Police Lt. Glen Gottenberg and all of the police officers from many departments who participated successfully in this DUI checkpoint,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “They took many drunk drivers off the road without incident. We are all safer because of them, now, and every day.”
