The Plumstead Township Police Department promoted Officer Tim Dockery to the rank of Corporal at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting held on February 14, 2023. Corporal Dockery was sworn in to his new position by Magisterial District Justice Gary Gambardella in front of a crowd of officers, family and friends. Candidates for the position of Corporal are required to take a competitive written examination which focuses on leadership principles, portions of the vehicle code and crimes code as well as Departmental policy. Candidates also endure a lengthy oral interview in front of a panel of veteran police executives.
Corporal Dockery is a graduate of Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. He graduated from the Temple University Police Academy in October of 2002 and joined the Plumstead Township Police Department. Corporal Dockery is a department Use of Force Instructor and Firearms Instructor as well as a long-time tactical operator and Team Leader for the Central Bucks Special Response Team.
