The Plumstead Township Police Department would like to warn residents that remnants of Hurricane IDA will be approaching the area likely to bring periods of heavy rain starting late tonight into Thursday afternoon.
The storm could bring up to 4-6 inches of rain which will cause flash flooding, creeks, and streams to overflow and some local roadways to go under water. Due to existing wet conditions and with the heavy amount of anticipated heavy rainfall, trees may fall causing roads to be blocked and electrical lines to come down causing local power outages.
Plumstead Township residents are asked to use extreme caution during this storm and motorist should use caution when approaching flooded roadways and to never go near downed electrical wires. If you see road closure signs in place, please do not drive around them and do not remove the signs from the roadway. The Bucks County Communications Center will be busy with calls, so if you have a non-emergency situation that needs attention between 8:00am and 4:00 pm, please call the Plumstead Township Police Department at 215-766-8741. If you have an emergency, please call 911 immediately.
