Christmas Food Basket Deliveries

The Bristol Borough Police delivered holiday food baskets to families that could use a little extra help during this holiday season.  Officers once again teamed up with the DeCaro Family who are the owners of Bristol Environmental. The DeCaro Family Giving Fund supplied funding for the twenty-five baskets that were distributed.  The DeCaro Family partnered with the Bristol Borough Police in the past, sponsoring the Bristol Borough Police Night at the Carnival, where Bristol Borough children were treated to a night at the St. Anne’s Carnival in 2019.  Unfortunately, due to the pandemic the carnival did not take place this year.

The families were identified with the assistance of the Bristol Borough School System.   Bristol Borough Police Officers purchased the food and assembled the baskets.  Sgt. Pete Faight, who who took the lead on the event, contacted Agostino Foods Service, which is located in Bristol Borough, to purchase the turkeys for the dinners.  Agostino, upon learning of what the police officers were doing, insisted on donating the turkeys.  Families are receiving all the fixings for a turkey dinner, desert and a gift certificate to Selecto Food market.

With the pandemic making traditional community outreach events scarce, the department wanted to do something to impact the community in a positive way.  The Bristol Borough Police are grateful to the DeCaro Family for supporting this project.
