We are pleased to announce that we are now providing additional support services for crime victims and will be implementing new crime prevention programs. These programs are fully grant funded by the Commonwealth of PA. To administer these programs, the Board of Supervisors appointed Laurie Hepler as our new Civilian Community Relations Specialist. Mrs. Hepler has served for 10 years as an Administrative Assistant at the Police Department. Mrs. Hepler has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Temple University and a master’s degree in English from Liberty University. Her combination of education and experience uniquely position her to succeed in this new venture. The program is completing its initial start-up administrative work and will be available for victim advocacy referrals and crime prevention programs beginning on Monday, April 17th, 2023. Officers in the field will refer victims to Laurie for victim advocacy when they respond to a crime. If you are a Bedminster resident or visitor and find yourself in need of victim advocacy or would like to schedule a crime prevention program for your organization or group, please reach out to Laurie at lhepler@bedminsterpd.com or 215-795-2972. More information on specific programs will be available soon on the Community Relations tab on our Crimewatch website. The Police Department would like to thank the PA Commision on Crime and Delinquency for this opportunity along with the Bedminster Township Board of Supervisors, Representative Shelby Labs and the other community leaders who voiced their support to make this community centered initiative a reality.
