The Bucks County Sheriff's Office wants to warn the public about an ongoing scam where individuals are posing as our deputies to try and steal your money.
We have received reports of scammers calling residents, falsely claiming to be from the Bucks County Sheriff's Office. They may use aggressive and threatening language to pressure you into providing personal information or making payments.
The Bucks County Sheriff's Office will NEVER call you on the phone or send you emails demanding money.
We will NEVER ask you for money over the phone or via email for any reason.
They are using our deputies' names. Scammers may have obtained the names of actual deputies to sound more legitimate.
They are spoofing our phone number. The number displayed on your caller ID might appear to be the Bucks County Sheriff's Office, but it is a fake ("spoofed") number.
You do NOT have to stay on the phone. If you feel pressured or uncomfortable, hang up immediately.
