Welcome to the Bucks County Sheriff's Office guide to obtaining your License to Carry Firearms (LTCF). As Sheriff, I'm committed to ensuring your Second Amendment rights are upheld while prioritizing community safety. This guide outlines the essential steps and requirements for Bucks County residents. We strive to provide a clear, efficient process, and encourage you to review this information thoroughly.
The License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) serves as a critical mechanism for maintaining public safety while respecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. This process is not merely administrative; it reflects a shared responsibility between the Sheriff's Office and the community. By requiring background checks and verifying eligibility, the LTCF system aims to prevent firearms from falling into the hands of those who would misuse them, thus contributing to a safer environment for all Bucks County residents. This commitment to responsible firearm ownership underscores the importance of the LTCF, ensuring that those who choose to carry a concealed weapon do so in accordance with the law and with a full understanding of their obligations.
To uphold the safety and integrity of our community, applicants must meet the following stringent eligibility requirements:
