DOYLESTOWN, PA (MAY 1, 2025) – Thursday morning, deputies from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office’s criminal and domestic warrant teams successfully apprehended John Chamber, 52, of Bristol Township who was wanted for failing to appear in court on assault and associated charges. The apprehension followed a standoff at a residence.
Sheriff’s deputies had conducted surveillance on a residence on the zero block of Wildflower Rd. in Bristol Township where the wanted individual was believed to be located. Deputies observed Mr. Chambers and attempted to make contact. Upon engaging with law enforcement at the door, the individual became confrontational and stated he would retrieve a firearm.
Following the threats, deputies secured the location and requested the assistance of the Bucks County South SWAT team. Negotiators from the SWAT team established communication with the suspect. After approximately 1.5 hours of negotiation, Mr. Chambers was taken into custody without incident.
No injuries were sustained by law enforcement officers or the individual during the operation. The Mr. Chambers has been remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Additional charges are pending.
“Keeping our community safe by serving arrest warrants for those wanted for crimes is our top priority, and it is also one of the most inherently dangerous. You never know the mindset of the individual you are attempting to apprehend or how they might react. Our deputies face these risks daily to ensure that individuals who fail to appear in court or pose a threat to the community are brought to justice,” said Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran. “I am grateful for the hard work and professionalism of my deputies, local law enforcement, and emergency personnel in bringing this standoff to a peaceful conclusion.”
Since 2022, the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office has reduced the number of outstanding warrants by 40%.
“We will continue doing whatever it takes to get wanted individuals off our streets to face justice for their actions,” added Harran.
Individuals with outstanding warrants are encouraged to voluntarily turn themselves in to the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office to resolve their legal matters proactively and potentially avoid the heightened enforcement activities associated with the future sweeps or law enforcement engagement. Individuals wishing to inquire about outstanding warrants or voluntarily surrender should contact the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division at 215-348-6126 / SheriffWarrants@buckscounty.org.
