On Monday, September 4, at approximately 7:00 PM, we investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 9000 block of New Falls Road, Levittown. The preliminary investigation determined that a silver-colored 2020 Nissan Rogue, operated by a 21 year old Morrisville resident, collided with a bicyclist. The bicyclist was wearing dark-colored clothing and no helmet. As a result of the collision, the bicyclist sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased while still on scene. The striking vehicle remained on scene and the operator is cooperating fully with the investigation. Alcohol, drugs or a medical emergency are not believed to be factors in causation at this time. Presently, the bicyclist is only known to be a Hispanic male with the first name of ‘Jose,’ who is approximately 60 years old and lives in the Levittown area.
Anyone having witnessed the accident or who has information regarding the identity of the bicyclist is asked to contact the assigned investigator, Corporal Nicholas Phillippe, at (215) 328-8501, or via email at n.phillippe@fallstwppd.com, or anonymously via email at tiplines@fallstwppd.com
