Firearms accidents in the home too often result from an unauthorized individual, often a child, finding a loaded and unsecured firearm in the home. In an effort to make homes with firearms safer and prevent needless accidents, the Buckingham Township Police Department, in cooperation with Project ChildSafe, is offering free gun lock safety kits to all gun owners. The locks are made of vinyl-covered, armored steel cable and are easy to install on any firearm. The gun locks may be picked up at the Buckingham Township Police Building during regular business hours and will be available as long as supplies last.
