On January 31st at approximately 8:40PM Warrington Police were dispatched to 104 Easton Road at the Regal Cinema for a report of shots fired from a BB gun.
On scene, the manager described two juveniles who went into a theater and shot a BB gun while a movie was being played. They left the location in a waiting sedan.
It was later discovered the gun involved was an Orbeez-type Gel Ball Gun. These guns fire gel/water filled balls. In the last year, social media challenges have increased the popularity of these guns and the prank of shooting random people with them while another films. Typically, these pranks take place in crowded areas.
This is not the first incident of this type in Warrington Township.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE speak with your children and teens about the dangers associated with this. Many of these gel ball guns can appear realistic and can easily be mistaken for posing a real threat.
