Theft by Deception - False impression



Warrington Township Police are investigating the report of a theft by deception. It was reported by the victim that a telephone call was received earlier indicating that the victim had a warrant issued for their arrest due to owing the Internal Revenue Service ( I.R.S.) approximately one Thousand dollars. The victim purchased approximately two thousand and six hundred dollars worth of GOOGLE PLAY and STREAM GIFT CARDS  and provided the numbers to the caller. The victim interacted with the caller and was told that a 32 page report could be obtained from the Warrington Police indicating that the bill has been paid. The caller then said the victim did not need to go to the police station now - at this point the victim believed a scam had been perpetrated by unknown actor(s) against them and notified the police. Warrington Police request that anyone with any information on this crime contact the Warrington Police Department at 215-343-3311 OR SUPPLY a TIP via this CRIME WATCH ALERT ----NOTE:  Any additional victims should report similar scam incidents to the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION at 202-326-2222 and also the BUCKS COUNTY CONSUMER PROTECTION at 800-942-2669  OR 215-348-6060  as those agency's are spearheading these type of investigations.
