The Warminster Township Police Department along with numerous surrounding jurisdictions are investigating numerous cases of counterfeit $100.00 bills being passed at local business. Individuals will pass these counterfeit bills making small purchases in order to get change. Knowing that most business check large denomination bills, a common method of passing these bogus bills is for the suspect to initially pass a genuine bill then ask for it back (after it was checked by the employee) using the excuse that they have smaller bills or use a bogus credit/debit card that does not work. The suspect will then switch the genuine bill with the bogus bill when they do not have smaller denominations or the card does not work.
Some of the common counterfeit serial numbers are JB21875500C, MB14334733R, LL82969398H.
