** Community Awareness:

**** Making a Police Report or Speaking with an Officer Involving an Incident:

If you need to make a police report, report a crime in progress or that has recently occurred and/or speak with an Officer in regard to a situation, you can dial 911 for emergencies or 215-672-1000 for our non-emergency dispatcher 24 hours a day.

The Crime Watch site “Contact Us Form” and the citizen contact form are for general administrative questions and general information request, not for dispatching or making reports. Please be aware these contact form accounts are not continuously monitored and therefore there can be a delay in getting a response or having an officer address a situation.

**** Halloween is approaching, The Warminster Police would like to remind everyone to be extra alert and careful when driving on Halloween especially on residential streets where trick or treaters may be out.  If you are sending your kids out to trick or treat please ensure they are easily visible as it gets darker out. Some items that may help are flashlights, glow sticks, or some type of reflective materials.  Ensure your children can see clearly out of their costume and are reminded to look carefully before crossing the street.  Many other Halloween safety tips can be found online by searching the term Halloween Safety Tips.

***  Catalytic Converter Thefts have become very common more recently especially for certain types of vehicles.  The thefts happen quickly with the actor(s) in and out of the area normally within a few minutes.  Most of the time the actor(s) uses a type of saw and quickly cut the expensive converters off the vehicle, then flee the area. These stolen converters are generally then sold for the scrap & rare metals that are found inside. The fact they are not removing them to be reused on another vehicle is why they can quickly cut them off and leave the area in a hurry.  We are asking everyone to be extra vigilant for this type of activity.  If you see suspicious activity around parked vehicles, do not hesitate to call 911 or 215-672-1000 (Non-Emergency dispatch) to have officer’s respond out and check the area.  Please inform the dispatcher if you have any helpful information so that they can alert the responding officers. Some helpful information would be the description of the actor(s)/their vehicle, The actor(s) direction of travel if they have already left the area, the vehicle/location that you suspect the theft occurred from and any other information you may feel is helpful.  Please be safe and do not put yourself in harm’s way.  The main thing is to get an officer out to check the area as soon as possible if the crime is in progress or suspicious activity has just occurred.

****As many residents are aware a drug collection box is located at the Police Department (401 Gibson Ave, Warminster PA) for the convenience of township residents.  This drop box allows residents to safely and securely dispose of old prescription and over the counter medications.  The box is located in our 24 hour Police Lobby.  Residence should read the warning label on the front of the drop box to ensure they are only leaving approved items. These items are collected and then properly disposed of by Police.
