On Friday October 30, 2020 at approximately 02:07 hours officers from Warminster Police “A” squad responded to 345 Newtown road for a report of a Domestic in progress and a male armed with a knife. Upon arrival officers found that the male subject dragged his girlfriend in the bathroom and was holding her hostage with a knife. Upon hearing the girlfriend scream for help, officers conducted a tactical intervention and rescued the girlfriend as she was stabbed by the subject. Initial Officers attempted to disarm the male subject as other Officers extracted the girlfriend and took her to awaiting Central Bucks Ambulance, who then transported her to Abington Memorial hospital for treatment of a significant stab wound. After several minutes of trying to have the male surrender the knife through deescalation and CIT tactics officers tactically extracted from the apartment and called for the Central Bucks County Special Response Team (SWAT) Members of the CBSRT utilizing negotiated and tactical intervention to successfully extracted the subject, who was taken to Doylestown Hospital for mental evaluation and medical treatment. Warminster Police would like to commend the members of “A” squad for their Bravery and professional actions. We apologize for any inconvenience our residents may have suffered. We made notification to the residents through PA Notifications and to the school district. We tried to ensure that we kept this event localized with minimal impact, however out of abundance of caution we needed to take steps to ensure the community safety.
