On December 19, 2018, the Warminster Police Department responded to a residence in the 900 block of Windsor Road for a report of a man armed with a knife threatening to harm himself. Upon arrival Police officers encountered Cooper who was intoxicated and armed with a knife and was refusing to allow the several residents to leave the house. Cooper, a person known to the residents, broke into the house and refused to leave. After about an hour, Police officers were able to negotiate the release of the residents. The residents were evacuated, and no one was injured. Cooper then barricaded himself in the house refusing to surrender. The Central Bucks Special Response Team entered the residence when Cooper stopped communicating with Negotiators. Cooper was found barricaded in an upstairs bedroom armed with a knife. Cooper taken into custody without injury. Cooper was charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Assault Terroristic Threats and Possession of an Instrument of Crime. Cooper was also charged with an assault on two of the residents which occurred on an earlier date. Cooper was arraigned before MDJ Finello and is being held in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 10% bail. The Warminster Police would like to thank the school district for their assistance in notifying the community and re-routing school buses during this incident.
