On 4/13/2018 at 1539 hours, an officer observed a vehicle driving in the 300 block of Second Street Pike which was displaying expired inspection and emission stickers. When the officer attempted to perform a traffic stop the vehicle, it failed to stop and intentionally drove into the Hampton Square Shopping Center parking lot and then behind the buildings. The vehicle was then observed exiting the parking lot and turning into Goldstein’s Funeral Home parking lot. Officers located the vehicle in the rear parking lot of Goldstein’s and found Faina Shafarenko to be the sole occupant and who was operating the vehicle.
Shafarenko was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license and also showed signs of impairment. She submitted to field sobriety tests and was determined to be under the influence of a narcotic. She was taken into custody for Fleeing or Attempting to an Elude a Police Officer, DUI and related traffic offenses. She processed and later arraigned by District Justice Seamen who set Shafarenko’ bail at $25,000.00/Unsecured.
