Major Incident Response Team (MIRT)

The Upper Makefield Police Department is a participating agency in the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team (MIRT). This response team is a county-wide, multi- agency unit comprised of officers from all of Bucks County's Police Departments.  The officers of the MIRT Team are specially trained to handle large-scale situations such as: natural disasters, crowd/ riot control and dignitary protection such as Presidential Security Details.  Upon request by an agency or other regions, the unit can deploy up to 100 officers at short notice.
