On July 11, 2021 an Officer from the Upper Makefield Police Department was flagged down by a passing motorist for a reckless driver in the area of Lookout Park. The complainant stated there was a speeding pickup truck that was passing multiple vehicles on River Road and headed south. The Officer gathered a description of the vehicle and began to patrol south on River Road from the area of Brownsburg Park. The Officer quickly identified the vehicle and began to follow it as it turned southbound on Taylorsville Road. The pickup truck passed another two vehicles at the 'S' curve of Taylorsville Road encroaching the northbound lane lane of travel. The officer was able to stop the vehicle on the shoulder of Taylorsville Road and Heritage Hills Drive where he spoke with the driver identified as Jason Tarcza from Yardville, NJ.
As the Officer spoke with Tarcza, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his person. The Officer also saw an empty alcoholic beverage on the floor board of the truck. When questioned about the smell, Tarcza stated that he had consumed one beer and then changed it to two beers. Field Sobriety Tests were administered and Tarcza was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of an alcoholic beverage and other vehicle code violations. At Headquarters, Tarcza consented and submitted to a blood test. All charges were filed with District Court.
