On May 15, 2021 Officers from the Upper Makefield Police Department were dispatched to the area of Mount Eyre Manor for a suspicious male in the neighborhood. The caller stated there was a silver vehicle going from driveway to driveway. Officers searched the neighborhood and found a male who was identified as Anthony Jenzano from Marcus Hook, PA. As Officers spoke with Jenzano, he kept talking to himself and was very jittery. Officers were able to find an identification card and a search came back that he had warrants for his arrest. Officers conducted a pat down search of Jenzano and found a white vial in his sock containing a white powdery substance. At this time Jenzano was placed under arrest and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle. Officers ensured that Jenzano was by himself by thoroughly searching the area prior to transporting Jenzano.
Jenzano was safely transported to Headquarters where he was placed in a secure holding cell. Due to a witness seeing Jenzano driving the vehicle and having possible drugs in his possession, a Drug Recognition Expert was called. The Drug Recognition Expert has specialized training to determine through a series of tests what impairing drugs a person has in their body. This greatly reduces the possibility of an error in an arrest for an Officer. When the Drug Recognition Expert arrived on scene, he conducted and completed his evaluation and ruled him not impaired due to mental illness. A test administered by a Drug Recognition Expert takes from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Jenzano was not charged with driving under the influence, but was charged with possession of a controlled substance and other offenses. Jenzano was charged and his charges are pending.
