On December 24, 2021 Officers from the Upper Makefield Police Department were dispatched to the area of Taylorsville Road and Terrell Drive for a report of a traffic crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and observed a severely damaged Acura SUV in the northbound lane leaning on a utility pole. The accident spanned an approximate ¼ mile and the vehicle had struck multiple trashcans and a landscape trailer that was overturned with the axle located several yards away. The driver was identified as Patrick Boyle and he was not injured, but as Officers were speaking with him, the Officers smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Boyle stated he was at a friend’s house in Philadelphia for the 76ers game and consumed an unknown number of alcoholic beverages. Officers conducted field sobriety and subsequently arrested Boyle for driving under the influence of alcohol. Boyle was transported to the Upper Makefield Township Police Department where he consented to a blood test. Charges are pending at this time.
