On August 26, 2020, Central Bucks Regional Police Officers investigated an aggravated assault incident that occurred on S. Main Street in Doylestown Borough. CBRPD officers informed Plumstead officers the actor, Kevin McCafferty of Pipersville, fled the area and was last seen traveling northbound on N. Easton Road. A Plumstead officer spotted McCafferty traveling northbound on Easton Road and radioed ahead to other officers. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on McCafferty, but he initially failed to stop. After a short distance, McCafferty stopped his vehicle and exited his vehicle brandishing a knife at officers. McCafferty then threw the knife at officers and removed a 4-foot sword from his vehicle and pointed it at officers. Plumstead Officers were eventually able to take McCafferty into custody without incident. McCafferty was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Possessing Instruments of Crime, Fleeing and Eluding and Resisting Arrest. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison and is awaiting his preliminary hearing.
