On September 15, 2020, Plumstead Township Police were dispatched to a business in the 5900 block of Durham Road for the theft of several items. The property owner showed the responding officer video surveillance from the theft. While viewing the video, the investigating officer immediately recognized the suspect in the video as Richard Dyer, 48, of Ottsville. Plumstead Township Police obtained an arrest warrant for Dyer and he was subsequently arrested with the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police (Dublin Barracks). Dyer was charged with Criminal Trespass, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Mischief. He was remanded to the Bucks County Prison and is awaiting his preliminary hearing.
