On July 28, 2020, the Plumstead Township Police Department investigated a theft that occurred from a local produce stand in the 5400 block of Durham Road. The owner of the stand reported the theft of $50.00 cash from the stand. On August 4, 2020, Plumstead Officers investigated another theft from the same produce stand. This time officers were able to obtain video surveillance of the suspect as he was taking cash from the money box.
On August 5, 2020, a Plumstead Detective observed the same male in the video loitering on Durham Road, in Buckingham Township. The male, Thomas J. Diehl, 64, of Coopersburgh, PA, was charged with both incidents. Diehl was arraigned before District Justice Gary Gambardella, who set an unsecured bail of $10,000. Diehl was later released and is awaiting his preliminary hearing.
