Murder Investigation

On October 12, 2022 Perkasie Borough Police received a missing person report from the adult daughter of Elizabeth (Beth) Capaldi who was a resident of 254 High Street in Sellersville. Ms. Capaldi had been missing from her home since October 10, 2022. The last person to see Beth Capaldi was her husband, Stephen M. Capaldi (57) with whom she resided. Detectives from Perkasie Police Borough Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office began an in-depth investigation into the disappearance of Beth Capaldi.

With the assistance of the Bucks County Grand Jury, investigators were able to obtain evidence and a subsequent confession from Beth Capaldi’s husband, Stephen M. Capaldi. On December 9, 2022 Stephen Capaldi was charged with Murder of the Third Degree and related offenses for the intentional killing of his wife Beth Capaldi.

The Perkasie Borough Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Elizabeth Capaldi. The outcome of this case brings great sadness to the department and the entire community.

On December 15, 2022 at a news conference District Attorney Matt Weintraub shared the details of the Bucks County Grand Jury investigation into the murder of Beth Capaldi.
