On May 18, 2017, Christopher Lee Goolsby was arrested after police were called to the 400 block of E. Walnut Street for the report of a male abusing his dog. Witnesses reported the male was swinging his pit bill terrier in the air by the leash. It was also reported that the male was dragging the dog down the sidewalk by the hind legs. Officers arrived on scene and found Goolsby and his dog. The dog was in serious distress with labored breathing. While officers were calling for veterinary assistance and rendering aid to the dog, the terrier passed away. Goolsby was arrested for animal cruelty.
District Judge Baum arraigned Goolsby and bail was set at $10,000/10%. He was unable to post bail and was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
