On the 4th of February, Officers in the area of S. Bellevue Ave and E. Lincoln Hwy were conducting traffic enforcement. A check of a registration tag found that it had expired in 2018. The vehicle attempted to elude police by making quick turns and traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle eventually pulled over in the 300 block of Crescent Street. Officers made contact with the driver, and sole occupant Leon Leary. While speaking with Leary, officers did notice the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person. Leary was also unable to produce a valid registration, insurance card or license. Leary did provide his name and DOB. After a check, Leary was found to have a active warrant for his arrest from Bensalem Township PD. They confirmed the warrant and Leary was arrested. After searching Leary after his arrest, evidence of paraphernalia and a controlled substance were found in his pants pockets. In the front seat next to Leary was a still cold and empty can of an alcoholic beverage. Leary was arrested for the warrant and will be sent a summons for the other charges.
