Northampton Township Police investigated a traffic crash where one of the vehicles left the scene. The dump truck was being operated south on Bustleton Pike and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection. The driver of the dump truck is alleged to have continued through the stop sign and into the path of a car travelling west and had the right of way. The impact disabled the car and the car required towing from the crash scene. The operator of the car was apparently uninjured. The driver of the dump truck stopped briefly after the collision and the turned east of East Bristol and fled the scene without checking on injuries or exchanging information as required by law.
Investigation uncovered video of the crash and captured dump truck. The video depicts an older model, Peterbuilt Tri-axle, with a green cab and aluminum (Silver) bed. Investigation led police to a local quarry where the operator of the truck was identified. The investigation is continuing.
