On March 6, 2015 police were called out to the Newtown Parcel Place for the delivery of suspicious packages. Through their investigation, police learned that a black male, approximately 6' tall, stocky build, mid-30's, operating a dark Dodge Charger was picking up packages from a mailbox leased by a female. These packages were believed to contain controlled substances.
On March 12, 2015 police made a traffic stop on a black Dodge Charger in the area of Sycamore Street and Jefferson Avenue. Upon contact with the driver, Criston Littlejohn, the officer was provided with a Delaware temporary registration. Further investigation into the Delaware temporary registration revealed that it was counterfeit. Littlejohn also failed to produce insurance information for the vehicle.
On March 12, police utilized a K-9 unit to investigate the Dodge Charger, which alerted police to the presence of a controlled substance(s). From this, police removed a package from the trunk of the vehicle and placed it near similar decoy boxes. The K-9 unit again alerted police to the presence of a controlled substance(s) in the package from the vehicle. With this police were able to secure a search warrant for the search and seizure of the package. The package contained more than 15 pounds of a green, leafy substance, which tested positive for the presence of marijuana.
