Newtown Township, PA – On Thursday February 21, 2019 at approximately 3:00pm, Newtown Township Police Officers responded to the TD Bank, located at 1 West Road – Newtown Township, for the report of fraud that had just occurred. A bank employee reported that a male wearing his arm in a "sling" had entered the bank and presented the employee with an out-of-state driver’s license, which displayed the man's photograph. The employee stated that the man also recited a social security number and requested banking statements from TD Bank accounts in the name displayed on the driver’s license. The employee stated that they had been alerted earlier by TD Bank staff at another bank branch, that individuals were utilizing fraudulent out-of-state driver's licenses, in an effort to obtain banking statements and make withdrawals from TD Bank customer accounts.
