INCIDENT BLOTTER: MARCH 2 - 8, 2018

  • Shortly before 1:30 pm the finance director of a Wrightstown company responded to headquarters to report the attempted theft of funds from the company’s checking account. The finance director explained that a few days earlier PNC Bank notified the company that they had detected and intercepted a counterfeited check, issued in the amount of $2,855.45. There was no loss to the victim since the attempt was prevented. Investigation is pending.  

March 8, 2018

  • At approximately 9:00 am a Newtown Township resident notified police that she had received four scam calls on her work cell phone from an unknown subject stating that they have kidnapped her son and want $3,000.00. The complainant was able to determine that the phone call was a scam, and police advised that she block the number.

  • Around 4:00 pm police were dispatched to a Sassafras Circle residence for the report of a theft of a package.  Upon arrival, police met with the victim who stated that she had received a notification from Amazon that her package was delivered earlier that day. When she arrived at her residence, however, the package, which contained a long sleeve shirt valued at $11.99, was no longer there. Amazon refunded the money to the victim, and a report was filed.
