On March 22, 2017, at approximately 6:00 pm, police received a report from a concerned parent whose child is a student at Council Rock High School – North. The student said that there was information going around that there would be a shooting in the school on March 23, 2017.
Police immediately launched an investigation, speaking with the reporting students in the presence of their parents. Officers received conflicting stories from students but no additional information was developed. Newtown Township Police and representatives of the Council Rock School District worked diligently to bring this situation to a safe and satisfactory resolution.
Upon completion of their due diligence, Newtown Township Police determined that there was no credible evidence to substantiate the statements that a shooting would take place at Council Rock High School – North today.
