INCIDENT BLOTTER: JANUARY 26 - FEBRUARY 1, 2018

January 27, 2018

  • Police were dispatched to an Eldridge Road residence shortly before 12:00 pm in reference to a suspicious occurrence and possible burglary attempt. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the complainant who indicated that he had found three window screens that had been cut along the side of his house. Police processed the scene for further investigation. 

January 28, 2018

  • Around 12:00 am a Southampton Township resident contacted police to report that she lost her wallet at a Newtown Township business the day prior. The complainant advised that her credit card was then fraudulently used and that the total loss was $352.00.  Police documented the incident and advised the complainant to notify her banks and cancel all of her cards to prevent further fraud.

February 1, 2018

  • At 1:00 pm a Wrightstown Township resident and business owner contacted police to report a telephone scam. The complainant explained that her husband and co-owner had received a call earlier that morning from someone impersonating a PECO Energy employee. The impersonator had stated that the electricity in their business would be disconnected unless their PECO bill was paid directly to him in CVS gift cards. The complainant hung up on the impersonator and contacted PECO Energy before reaching out to police. Police confirmed that this was a scam.
